FOREST HEIGHTS PRESCHOOL
Mrs. Laura Winberry, Director
Our preschool offers an atmosphere that is warm, caring, accepting and loving. Children are taught worthwhile values through sharing, taking turns, being friends and learning that they are important individuals. We want each child to love learning in his or her first preschool experience.
Children will have experiences in creative art and music, including group singing, fingerplays, movement and rhythm instruments, storytelling, language development, cognitive reasoning, activities which will develop small and large motor control and activities to celebrate holidays and seasons.
Each preschool day will offer a balance of teacher directed activity and free choice play. Children will have opportunities to develop social skills, independence and their unique talents and abilities.
Our preschool follows the State of Tennessee curriculum, TN-ELDS (Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards). The TN-ELDS curriculum was developed to provide documentation of the continuum of developmental milestones from birth through age five based on the research about the processes, sequences, and long term consequences of early learning and development. TN-ELDS covers: speech and language development, early
literacy, math and science, social-emotional development, creative arts, and
