Becoming A Member
If you would like to become a part of our community of faith here at Forest Heights, membership may be entered into through making a profession of faith in Jesus Christ or transferring one’s membership from another congregation.
MAKING A PROFESSION OF FAITH IS THE ACT OF SAYING, IN ESSENCE, “I WANT TO BE A FOLLOWER OF JESUS.”
Making a profession of faith signifies an acknowledgment and response to God’s grace by repenting of sins, declaring one’s faith in Jesus Christ, and professing one’s desire to live as Jesus’ disciple in the Church.
An invitation is given at the close of most worship services for those who wish to make a profession or reaffirmation of faith.
If someone has not been baptized, he or she is encouraged to speak with a pastor in order to receive baptism in conjunction with or soon after a profession of faith.
